The exhibition catalogue to Andy Warhol’s famous exhibition at Moder
na Museet in 1968 consisted of four parts: documentation of Warhol’s artworks, two series of
images from his studio The Factory, as well as, a small selection of quotes and aphorisms from
Andy Warhol
taken from books and newspaper clippings. The graphic design was created by John Melin and
Gösta Svensson. Instead of using a reproduction of artwork for the exhibition poster, they opted
for using quotes from Warhol instead. About a dozen or so versions were printed with different
quotes in the powerful and striking typography that was John Melin’s hallmark. These posters
were then also used as advertisements for the exhibition all over Stockholm.
