This cover was made by Pierre Souagles for the album “In
Memoriam Bertolt Brecht, Bach Variations” by Paul Dessau,
Gewandhaus Orchestra Leipzig. Pierre Soulages was a French
painter, engraver and sculptor, representative of Tachism. He
was known as “the painter of black” for his use of this colour in his
abstract works. An example of his work is this cover which shows
this one-colour tachism in this case.
