This poster is one of the final few designed by Warhol. It features one of his famous
“fright wig” self-portraits, considered among his best series. Although the poster presents atwork
that was not specifically created for it, it is included in this catalogue because of Warhol’s
original intervention in the design with his lettering and signature. This is the third poster Warhol
created for a one-night event. The Williams College Museum of Art (WCMA) keeps in its
the letters and signature that Warhol sent for printing the poster. The lettering is similar to that
which Warhol had created for the Montreux Festival poster a few months earlier.
