DESCRIPCIÓN:

The six Warhol posters intended for Halston’s boutiques represent the most ambitious adverti
sing campaign for this line of womenswear, menswear, fragrance and cosmetics, and women’s
accessories. The poster artwork was also extensively reproduced beginning in September 1982
in publications such as Harper’s Bazaar, Vogue, and the New York Times Magazine as well as
Interview, the magazine founded by Warhol, who also served as its editor in chief.
To create the posters, Warhol photographed items of Halston clothing, cosmetics, and acces
sories that had been delivered to the Factory. He arranged them in visually appealing composi-
tions on a flat white background and made several sketches as well as screen-print trial proofs
using dark colors to contrast with the poster’s vibrant hues.
