These posters for Rado Switzerland were commissioned from Warhol by John
Hubascher; who was responsible for the brand’s New York subsidiary, Rado Watches.
Warhol known for his serialization of objects, chose to represent only one watch in his poster art
work. Despite Warhol’s many illustrations of fashion accessories commissioned by magazines
since the 1950s, the Rado posters represent his first work depicting a watch as an autonomous
object.
Rather surprisingly, the Anatom model and Rado brand names are barely visible on the poster.
