This was Haring’s first regular com-
mission for a poster. It was arranged by the
Swiss graphic designer Pierre Keller, who
worked in the neighboring city of Lausanne,
was involved in the production of the posters
for the festival, and traveled to New York to
personally present Haring with his compli-
mentary copies of the poster.
