The poster was edited by the repre-
sentative of the state council of the canton of
Vaud (“éditée par le Délégué du Conseil
d’Etat Vaudois”) on the occasion of the
700th anniversary of the Swiss national
holiday, August 1. It was on this date in 1291
that the Federal Charter would seal the fede-
ration of the Swiss cantons.
