The project was started by
Richard Avedon, who had been very successful.
filled with a portrait of Nastassja Kinski.
For Haring, body painting (like Grace
Jones) seemed inappropriate and it hurt him.
Instead, he chose “cartoon heart.” The impression,
distributed by Andrew Grenshaw Ltd., new
York, was a failure, according to Haring.
