DESCRIPCIÓN:
: This is the only poster created by Warhol that was meant to be folded and inserted inside a
record sleeve. The record was the single of Debbie Harry’s “French Kissin’”, a song from her second album,
Rockbird. The album cover features a close-up of the singer’s face against the background of a painting
from Warhol’s Camouflage series, which raises questions about the extent of the artist’s collaboration. War-
hol was working on the Camouflage series, including a self-portrait and the Statue of Liberty, at the time he
received this commission from Chrysalis Records. Warhol entrusted his friend the fashion designer Stephen
Sprouse to make Harry’s camouflage dress and the album cover’s lettering. The photograph used for the
poster and album cover was taken by Guzman. Warhol’s multidisciplinary concept also included a camou-
flage dress to be worn by Harry in the “French Kissin’” video.
