“In September 1988, I go to Düssel
dorf for a show of my paintings and sculptures
at the Hans Mayer Gallery, which is one of
the best galleries in Germany. I’ve become
more and more interested in doing large out
door sculptures. […] Hans Mayer, in asso-
ciation with Tony Shafrazi, begins production
of these sculptures. This is a major, major
project.”
